I have a small variety of affiliate accounts for products that complement the direction of this site. Affiliate links to these products are distributed throughout the website.

If you purchase a product through an affiliate link, I receive a small commission. This is used to maintain the site. The commission has no effect on what you would pay for the product which would be the same amount whether you purchase through the link or in some other way.

Please know that it is entirely your choice whether or not to purchase through any of these links and that I accept no responsibility in your decision to make (or not make) purchases. You understand that the I may profit from this website.

P.S. I apologize for having to make this disclaimer. I’d like to think that my readers are smart enough to be responsible for their own actions. However, the government says I need to be upfront and protect my readers.

If an affiliate link is based on my recommendation, then it is ALWAYS based on my belief that the business and it’s product or service will provide excellent and valuable information or service based on either a) a review of that product, b) my relationship with that person or business, and/or c) my previous positive experience with the person or company who’s product we are recommending. So what is an affiliate link?

Affiliate links, look and work in the same way as any “normal link”. The only difference being that  if someone clicks through, then the link is tracked and it may generate a payment to me. These payments could be for a variety of actions including per click, per user, per application or any combination of these.

Why use affiliate links?

The practice of using affiliate links is in no way underhand and to the contrary is common practice among online businesses. It allows one business to promote another business to their customers and to take a share for the referral and/or sale in return. Virtually all large high street retailers, brands and manufacturers use exactly the same techniques as part of their online advertising and marketing mix.
