Travel and food go hand-in-hand.

You get to a new destination, and can’t wait to try some of the local foods; sometimes if you’re lucky you get the chance to cook too.

I firmly believe that one of the best ways to get to know a local culture is through their food. Never one to shy away from any culinary experience I put this method to practice as often as possible.

I might be living in Spain, but it doesn’t mean I can’t celebrate with an American Thanksgiving. There’s a lovely CouchSurfer in Madrid who loves to throw “Potluck” dinner parties, I was meant to attend one for Halloween, but ended up sleeping too late and not buying the ingredients in time to cook. On Thursday night, I co-hosted a Tapas Crawl in Lavapiés, Madrid. What is Tapas? Tapas are a variety of appetizers (snacks) in Spanish cuisine. The serving of Tapas is designed to encourage conversation, since people are not focused on eating an entire meal.
