One guys solo adventure around the world

Is it time to go?

I’ve found myself taking a look at my life recently, and trying to summarise what I’ve acheived… the answer doesn’t particularly excite me.

Sure, I have a University degree, got myself a career, gained experience with a couple of fantastic companies; bought a dog, bought a house, filled it with nice things; and have had some great times over the years with some amazing friends.

But I find myself remembering the small trips I’ve taken, and the adventures had overseas. I find myself reading travel blogs, hosting travelers, and dreaming of travel in far away and exotic lands.

Since my career hasn’t gathered the pace I had expected by now, I feel it’s a great time to leave for some long-term travel and self-development. Now that I’m almost 28, I am starting to regret not traveling before bedding down into a career. 6 years of working in a cubicle does that to you.

For as long as I can remember I’ve wanted to see the world, but the fear has always got the better of me, the fear of traveling solo and the unknown. I’ve decided to challenge myself, and face the fear head-on, so I’m off around the world: I just need to figure out what I want to see, where I want to go, and what dates are good for me.
